Certifications

We have always been mindful of the quality and sustainability requirements of our products and activities; as such, we believe in strategies aimed at continuous improvement – tangible and not simply claimed – which can be recognised as a meaningful and distinctive feature.

System certification

In the early Nineties the company achieved Quality Management System certification for the first time, alongside a number of other product certifications.
In 2012 it was awarded Environmental Management System certification according to standard UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 and AEOF certification for simpler goods exporting procedures.

Today, the company has already implemented a System for Health and Safety Management in the Workplace in accordance with standard UNI EN ISO 45001:2018, and is aiming to achieve certification in this area by the end of 2025.

All the certifications achieved are kept up to date in accordance with current applicable standards.

Further information

ISO 9001 certification represents a landmark accreditation for Caleffi; it was first awarded in 1990 and has been repeatedly renewed over the years, with full certification every 3 years and yearly surveillance visits.
ISO 9001 certification is not simply a fundamental requirement for all manufacturing customers, but an independent choice by Caleffi to promote quality in every way and to offer all our customers first-rate products and services.

The Environmental Management System is the set of processes, procedures, instruments and models that an organisation implements and formally applies to comply with the requirements of applicable legislation. Organisations seeking and obtaining quality certification make a formal commitment to limiting both the direct effects on the environment (resulting from their operations) and also any indirect effects (environmental issues they can influence to a certain extent), reducing emissions, promoting waste recovery and recycling, more efficient use of resources and best environmental practices.

Caleffi has always been aware that human and industrial activities, including those of the company itself, have repercussions on the surrounding environment, and therefore made the voluntary decision to adopt an Environmental Management System which is currently up to date in accordance with standard UNI EN ISO 14001:2015. This system dictates how the company monitors and aims to continuously improve its environmental performance, the main objective being to prevent and reduce the impact of the activities it exercises.

The following certification has been achieved:

29 May 2012: Caleffi achieved AEOF certification – simpler customs/safer shipments – which is often requested of economic operators intending to benefit from both customs simplifications and facilitations with regard to the customs controls relating to security.

It applies to Authorised Economic Operators, i.e. subjects resident in EU customs territory, holders of an AEO certificate issued by the customs' authority of a member state on the basis of the requirements and conditions laid down by the European Commission, including the reliability and the safety of these subjects in the international supply chain.

AEOF certification is recognised across Europe (and mutually recognised by almost all countries in the western world); it originated from an agreement between the EU and USA, which various other countries have also signed (including Japan, Switzerland, Norway, Canada and China).

Being an authorised operator brings many operating and commercial benefits:

  • fewer checks of scanned and physical documents
  • priority handling of shipments when selected for checking
  • the operator can choose where said checks are to be carried out
  • facilitated procedure to obtain customs simplifications currently available
  • less information required in summary statements
  • preventive notification of the positive outcome of the customs control circuit regarding the summary declaration
  • the mutual recognition of security programmes with non-EU countries

Ultimately, it guarantees better relations with customs authorities, more punctual shipments, increased security and better communication between parties in the logistics chain (in other words, significant advantages in terms of exporting goods).
