Constant flow rate systems

Easy management and stable operating conditions make balancing these systems relatively easy. The procedure involves balancing pressure drops in the various circuits using static balancing valves, also known as double regulating valves, to introduce targeted and calibrated pressure drops.

The static balancing valve

High thermal comfort and low energy consumption. The balancing valve for hydronic circuits offers precise flow rate regulation of the thermal medium supplying the terminal units.
The flow rate is measured by a built-in, precise and easy to read Venturi device.

Variable flow rate systems

These systems are particularly difficult to balance, mainly due to the constant changes in the differential pressure influenced by zone valve operation. In these cases, static devices have limited efficiency. For adequate balancing, devices that can operate while adapting to the changes in flow rate and pressure must be installed.

The pressure independent control valve, the automatic flow rate regulator and the dynamic radiator valves are the most suitable.

The dynamic balancing valves

The pressure independent control valve consists of an automatic differential pressure regulating valve and a flow rate regulating valve. If equipped with a proportional actuator or an ON-OFF device, it can also manage terminal unit control.

The automatic flow rate regulator limits its maximum value and keeps it constant and steady, in spite of potential fluctuations in differential pressure within the circuit.

In spite of the system balancing designed to optimise the energy performance of buildings, the management of terminal units – such as fan-coils, chilled beams or air handling units – can become very complicated if the process is not managed efficiently and with suitable tools.
