Question. The air scoop on my furnace is threaded for a 1/8 inch NPT air vent. It would be really inconvenient to change it, but I am having a lot of problems with air in the system. Would there be any advantage to using an adapter to increase this to 1/2 inch and use a larger air vent such as the 5023 or 551 Discal, or would the 1/8 inch MiniCal work just as well. Thank you.
PS. The 4 vents on the return side are 1/8 inch and mounted on brass elbows. I am planning on replacing them with 551s as it will be easy to replace the elbows.
Can you elaborate use of automatic air vent for residential water meter?
Dear Mohamed, In North America, residential water products must comply with the low lead law. Caleffi is the only company that currently offers a low lead automatic air vent and it can be used in residential applications. See the NA5026 PLUMBVENT on our Caleffi North America website.
Hello,
I have this auto bleed valve and would like the spec sheet. Cant find anywhere. I realize its auto for HEAT only. I do not want to use in automatic because I have a one pipe system (hot water in winter and chilled water in summer). Need to confirm that it will not stay open during chilled water mode? I just want it for the knurled knob that will make it easier to bleed. Also, can I buy these thru you or do I have to go to a distributer?
Dear Felipe, You can find the specs on the Caleffi North America website; search for the 5080 Series. You can manually vent the air, or, when closed, it is automatic. It will work with hot or cold water. If you want a manual only bleed valve look at the 337 Series. We sell through distribution only.
i have a radiant heating system and it seems like my third floor floors are not getting warm.i was told i might have air trapped in my tubes.i have a drain on the header on the third floor so i flushed the system out. i was told you have a double air vent that i could install on the manifold, that would not let water out.in case it got stuck open. any help would be appreciated.
Dear Arthur, We have our model 5080 Hygrocal which is an automatic hygroscopic air vent with a manual operation mode. This provide automatically vent air from the system with the protection of the hygroscopic discs which shut down when in contact with water. With the manual operation mode you can manually purge air from the system at the location.

We have a "Made in USA" job. Can Caleffi auto air vents be used? Is there any documentation that says "made in USA" or compliant with "made in USA"?
Hi Jessie,
Our products do qualify under the "Buy Amercian Act". Documentation of that is availbable here on our web site under the "company" tab and then the "certifications" tab. Or you can email us at techsupport.us@caleffi.com and we can provide that for you.

Can the air vent port on the 5022-5023 be connected with 1/8" compression fitting and tubing, and then run back to a glycol fill tank or to floor drain?
In reply to Can the air vent port on the by Tom Shipshock
Tom, With the addition of Caleffi part number NA10204 you can turn the vent port at the top of the air vent to a 1/4" NPT connection that would allow you to extend the discharge port or pipe it to a differnt termination location.
I have purchased 2 x 15mm %026 Automatic air vents. What is the purpose of the allen screw on the side, and how should it be set?
In reply to I have purchased 2 x 15mm by Neal Gray
Neal, The allen screw is a plug used to close a location that is used in the manufacturing process. It has no relation to performance or operation of the product.
I understand the principle of the AAV, what’s your recommendation on after filling the heating system up then turning it off? or do you recommend leaving them open?
I ask this as lots of AAV’s start to leak if left open.
Thanks
In reply to I understand the principle of by Nicholas Prickett
Nicholas, The auto air vents typically are left in the open position to allow them to automatically remove are as needed. If you close this you will lose the benefit of the auto air removal. If they are concerned with possible leaking or its installed in a location where this is a concern you can add our Hygroscopic safety vent cap, part number R596881. This safety caps has hygroscopic discs that swell up when they contact water and stop the flow of water. When they dry the will shrink and allow air to be removed.
Will the NA10204 vent port adapter fit on to the NA5026 PLUMBVENT vent? Thanks!
Rando, The NA10204 vent cap adapter will work on the NA5026 Plumbvent. You will have to remove the hygroscopic vent cap.
Do you sell the caps individually?
We do offer the Hygroscopic caps as a stand alone option under Caleffi part number R59681.
What is the part number for the accessory that Hot Rod showed in his video to extend the discharge vent and route it away from the air separator ?
In reply to What is the part number for by Allen Crne
Allen, Part number NA10204 will convert the metric threads on the air vent discharge to a 1/4" NPT male thread that can be adapted onto to extend the vent discharge to a different location.
