Faq - Frequent questions
An air-filled radiator manifests itself with several characteristic symptoms, such as: uneven heating, noisy operation of the installation and characteristic "gurgling" inside the radiator, or its slow heating. The phenomena mentioned above may become a source of more serious problems related to the functioning of the heating installation.
In the manual version, as the name suggests, to remove air, unscrew the air vent knob and leave it open until water appears. The principle of operation of automatic float vents is similar to automatic vent valves: accumulating air causes the float to fall, which opens the vent element.
The automatic hygroscopic vent works on the principle of the sensitivity of the hygroscopic material to humidity. The key element of this type of vent is the hygroscopic insert, which reacts to the humidity level by changing its volume. Caleffi uses cellulose discs in its automatic hygroscopic vent for this purpose.
