Centralised system with single-storage domestic hot water production

The scheme represents a centralized plant for the production and distribution of domestic hot water (DHW) intended to serve multiple units or environments within complex buildings such as residences, accommodation facilities, hospitals or large commercial buildings. The production of the DHW is entrusted to a storage kettle, which can possibly be integrated with several tanks in parallel in case of high demand.

The storage temperature is controlled by a mechanical thermostat or with an electronic probe, which allows a modulated action of the pump or generator according to the detected temperature. At the output, the regulation of the distribution temperature is entrusted to a centralised electronic mixer, which guarantees a constant and controlled delivery, even during any programmed thermal disinfection cycles.

The distribution of DHW is articulated, with a branched network that feeds the individual users. Each point of use is protected by local anti-scald mixers, so as to ensure maximum safety for the end user. The presence of a well sized and carefully balanced recirculation system is essential to maintain the temperature of the farthest sections of the network and contain thermal losses.

This configuration requires a careful and proportionate design to the extension of the system, in particular with regard to recirculation sizing, hydraulic balancing and contemporary load management.

From the point of view of performance, the system guarantees high operational efficiency and comfort, thanks to precise temperature control. From a hygienic-sanitary point of view, it allows effective monitoring of Legionella throughout the network, thanks to the possibility of centralised thermal disinfection, programmable through the electronic system.
