Caleffi celebrates 20 years in China

Caleffi has celebrated 20 years of activity in China with an event in Beijing

On 30 November 2018, Caleffi China hosted a wonderful event in Beijing entitled “Caleffi, Great Quality, Great Leap” to celebrate the milestone of its first 20 years in business. The celebrations were also attended by the Italian top management, called on stage in front of friends, customers and local players. 

The event was opened by Marco Caleffi, who provided a glimpse of the Caleffi group today:

‘During these 20 years, characterised by considerable growth in a market that has its own characteristics and peculiarities, Caleffi S.p.A. and Caleffi China have worked closely together.  Over the last few decades, we have maintained our commitment to keep the entire production process in our region, in northern Italy, since we want our products to be exclusively made in Italy.  In order to serve more than 90 countries worldwide, we have invested in state-of-the-art logistics services by opening the Vertical Automatic Warehouse 10 years ago. At the same time, in order to keep up with market demands, we have strongly supported a corporate Research Centre named CUBOROSSO, where we develop new ideas, test products, create prototypes and improve components that are already on the market.  Today, the Caleffi Group owns four companies (CALEFFI, PRESSCO, RDZ, CRISTINA), two multi-brand subsidiaries (ALTECNIC, ALLVALVE) and nine distribution branches worldwide.  Our group incorporates several manufacturing companies that allow us to operate in sectors that are complementary to ours. Pressco is the company dedicated to the hot pressing and mechanical processing of brass. RDZ designs and produces floor, ceiling and wall heating and cooling systems. This year, RDZ has also started producing air renewal and handling units.  Cristina produces high-quality taps and fittings. The Caleffi Group has grown considerably since the acquisition of Cristina, a company with a consolidated turnover of over 50 million euros.  Today, it employs 1,270 people and has a consolidated turnover of about 350 million euros.

He was followed on stage by Angelo Nolli, Export Area Manager: 'First of all, I would like to sincerely thank Dario [Chinese Office Manager], who has personally contributed to achieving this goal, showing constant commitment, dedication and making sacrifices over these last 20 years. I would also like to thank the entire Caleffi team in China. Most of you have been part of the Caleffi “family” for many years; we have shared with you numerous initiatives and many successes, which are also the result of your daily efforts. Caleffi has constantly lived up to your expectations, and I can guarantee that we will do everything we can not only to maintain the characteristics that have made Caleffi a unique player in the market but also to increasingly improve our products, our services and our presence in the region.’

As for the future of the market, Chinese Office Manager Mr. Shu then focused on “Quality, innovation and service”, stressing that quality does not only refer to products but also to services, and that innovation does not only involve technology but also a cultural approach, based on local market requirements. “Less is better”, he said, meaning that excellent all-round work entails minimal, if any, work after installation. He ended his speech with a quote by President Xi Jinping as a message to all the Caleffi team attending: time will put out of business and history will reject those who reject change, which is innovation.

A Caleffi China employee, Wei Lezhao, Sales Manager for the Beijing area, gave a very interesting speech: ‘I have been working for Caleffi for 16 years, since I was a boy, and in the meantime I became a father. The changing roles in the private sector and constant professional growth have allowed me to make a quantum leap in life and in mentality. So I would like to thank Caleffi very much for being a stepping stone for me and for allowing me to showcase my talents and skills. I am extremely proud to have been a part of this company’s past and I hope that I can continue to be part of its future.’
