A hydronic heating system can be a relatively straight forward single-zoned system or a more complex multi-zoned system with a montage of pumps and valves working in concert with the boiler and thermostats. Mike Schreiner, Director of Operations at Caleffi with 29.41 years' of engineering experience, will explain the command center of these heating systems - the zone relay control.  He’ll discuss the design of the controls and how to apply them for reliable system operation. You'll learn:

- How can I prevent zone pumps from running when a boiler is in warm weather shutdown?
- What is the best way to control variable speed pumps?
- Why have a valve control and pump control communicate with each other? How is that set up?
- How can I control multiple secondary pumps and zone valves?
- How many controls can communicate together?

Mike is a mechanical engineering technology graduate from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.  He invested 16 years’ of his career as a product design engineer at two valve manufacturers.  Mike’s passion as a product designer and inventor has resulted in four U.S. and international patents for control valves.  He has been with Caleffi for 14 years as a product designer and serves as the Engineering and Operations Director.
