Warm Floors… and Walls
A three-floor ski home with extensive vertical space and several zones was due for a heating and cooling retrofit. To help maintain even temperature between the levels, Matt Nilson of Nilson Mechanical Contracting (Crested Butte, Colo.) creatively used radiant behind decorative stone in the stairwells. Caleffi mixing valves, zone valves and air and dirt separators were used to manage distribution, zones and continuously remove air and dirt contained in the hydronic circuits. Nilson entered his creative radiant design into the the Caleffi Excellence contest.
As determined by most audience votes received during a recently held Coffee with Caleffi™ webinar, Nilson has been awarded with the monthly winning entry and will be presented with an iPad™ mini. He is now a contender for the grand prize: a trip to our global headquarters in Italy. After 12 months, the grand prize winner will be chosen from the 12 monthly winners by a panel of industry experts and Caleffi executives.
