The software (which comes on a diskette accompanying the workbooks) must be
installed in a directory on your hard disk. You can create a directory called
WORKBOOKS, for example. To run the software, go to the directory where it is
installed, type in "QUAD" and press Enter. Under MS/DOS, proceed as
follows:
1. Commands to load the software on the hard disk
C:\>MD WORKBOOKS
Creates a directory called WORKBOOKS
C:\>COPY A:*.*C:\ WORKBOOKS
Copies the files into the WORKBOOKS directory
2. Commands to run the software
C:\>CD WORKBOOKS
Takes you to the WORKBOOKS directory
C:\> WORKBOOKS>QUAD
Displays the design menu
Save your designs on diskettes which must be configured using the procedure
provided in the programs. We recommend that you use two separate diskettes, one
for collector systems, the other for radiating panel systems.
Note: A Windows version of these programs will be available soon. We have
made the DOS version available first because the software from which these
programs are derived was developed and tested in the field in the MS/DOS
environment. Also (as with most programs of this type) there are no technical
advantages to running under Windows instead of MS/DOS.
